» SaaS Tips: Part Two from Brainshark Blog
Yesterday I shared with you some best practices of the SaaS model. Today we’re talking about security and performance and everything that comes with it. As we’ve seen with the Gartner report and here, the SaaS model is here to stay! And with SaaS ... [Read More]

Good post.

What do you believe are going to be the points we can measure SaaS-ification upon?

Security, Uptime

Will there be much room in SAAS for mulitple verticals? Will there be a SAAS competition to salesforce of any size?

The only point I would be weary is that the ability to walk away is not there. It is easier during the growth phase of a small company, as your investment is reduced and you could walk away. Once you integrate your 'business' process you are hooked.

Thanks Richard,

You are raising extremely good points and I am actually planning to post on these very topics shortly …

Stay tuned ;-)

A good read.

How many SaaS applications will I have to manage ? If I were to consume all my 'business' applications on a SaaS model, how many providers will I have to interface with and how many accounts will I have to manage ?

What about billing? What consumers would really like is to get a single bill at the end of the month and to pay only one provider instead of managing multiple bills! Basically a "Single Throat to Choke"

Its not just the "SaaS-ification", one has to think about, but also the delivery of these "SaaS-fied" applications. Imagine if I could login into one single portal and have access to my CRM/Email/Collaboration/IT Services.

You are absolutely right Deejay!

Stay tuned since I will be blogging on the “SaaS Integration Platform”(SIP) topic very shortly.

This will not solve the billing issue you mentioned but from a pure integration perspective, I will be examining possible scenarios of leveraging SaaS across all three layers of a typical architecture (the user interface, the business layer, and the data layer) as well as some strategies to address the integration needs in each scenarios.
